Private Sessions

Private Obedience
Private obedience at Coach Wags is all about creating a personalized experience for your dog, considering their unique background, your lifestyle, and your goals. You’ll receive one-on-one training and coaching, a handy training log to keep track of progress, and a weekly email update to stay in the loop.
Why choose Private Obedience?
Because your dog will pick up new skills more quickly than in group classes. Plus, we can dedicate extra time to those tricky areas, and training happens in the comfort of your home, making it less stressful for your furry friend.
Please note: We require an in-person consultation before getting started, which costs $65 and takes about an hour. This helps us tailor the program just for you.
Our courses run for 4, 6, or 8 weeks, with sessions typically lasting around an hour, scheduled once a week—though we can customize this to fit your needs.

Behavior Consulting
When your dog shows behavioral challenges, it’s often due to many different factors coming into play. Coach Wags wants you to know that we’re here to support you every step of the way, so together we can help your dog thrive. We truly believe in you—after all, you’re dedicated to giving your dog the best life possible, otherwise you wouldn’t be here!
At Coach Wags, we take behavior challenges seriously because we want to serve you well. That’s why we start with a thorough consultation, where we chat about your dog’s temperament, how they are with you, and their history. This helps us find the right solutions and work toward better behavior.
Some common challenges include:
– Potty Training
– Barking
– Destructiveness
– Hyperactivity
– Reactivity
– Resource Guarding
– Sound Phobias
– Fear or Shyness
If you’re facing any of these or other concerns, we invite you to schedule an appointment. The initial session is a great opportunity to share details about when the issue started, when it happens now, and what you’ve tried so far. Together, we’ll create a customized training plan and begin implementing it during the session.
For many behavior issues, just a few sessions—like 2 or 3—can lead to noticeable improvements. More complex challenges might require a series of sessions, and sometimes we’ll recommend joining a group class or a specialized program for extra support.
Please note: an in-person consultation is required before any services can begin. The consultation fee is $65 and lasts about an hour.
Number of Sessions: As needed.
Session Duration: The initial session is 1.5 hours; subsequent sessions typically last 1 to 1.5 hours.
Pricing will vary—please reach out to request a consult.

Day Camp
Training|Decompression|Enrichment
Day Camp gives your dog a full “school day” designed around how dogs learn best. Research on day‑training shows that dogs retain skills more effectively when lessons are short and repeated throughout the day. Your dog cycles through three core activities:
- Training sessions: Todd works one‑on‑one with your dog on obedience and behavior goals. Multiple brief sessions, spaced throughout the day, help your dog stay focused and build skills quickly. Skills can include loose‑leash walking, sit, down, stay, recall, leave it, and drop it.
- Decompression breaks: Between lessons, your dog gets a chance to unwind. This might be a sniff‑based “decompression walk,” which allows dogs to move at their own pace and sniff freely. Such walks promote calmness, reduce stress, and allow dogs to engage in natural behaviors like sniffing and exploring. Decompression time can also include a chew or Kong, cuddle time, or just relaxation.
- Enrichment activities: Mental and physical enrichment rounds out the day. Depending on your dog’s interests, this might mean food puzzles, trick training, fetch, tug, or scent work. Enrichment that provides mental and physical stimulation improves a dog’s emotional well‑being and helps tire them out.
Session options:
Choose between a 1‑hour or 2‑hour day camp session. Pick‑up and drop‑off can be arranged for extra convenience.
Who it’s for:
Day Camp is ideal for busy owners who want their dog to make real progress during the day and come home calmer and more balanced. Because of the intensity and structure, the program is not appropriate for puppies under 5 months or for dogs with separation anxiety or aggression. Each session is for one dog only so training and enrichment can be fully individualized.

Day Camp
Physical & Mental Enrichment
Some dogs need more than a walk around the block but aren’t suited to loud, chaotic dog parks or free‑for‑all daycare. Our Physical & Mental Enrichment sessions are designed to give your dog purposeful exercise and brain work in a one‑on‑one setting.
- Tailored activities: Each session combines physical play—such as fetch, tug, agility games, or hike‑style sniff walks—with puzzles, scent games, and interactive toys that challenge your dog’s mind. Enrichment should provide both mental and physical stimulation to improve a dog’s health and emotional well‑being, and puzzles, games, and interactive toys prevent boredom and reduce anxiety.
- Sniff and explore: We incorporate “sniffari” walks or nose‑work exercises, letting your dog set the pace and use their nose. These activities engage their senses and satisfy natural exploration instincts.
- Personal attention: Your dog receives individualized care rather than being one of a dozen dogs. Enrichment sessions with puzzles, games, and controlled exercise keep dogs happy and fulfilled without the exhaustion or stress that can come from large playgroups. Dogs who find daycare overwhelming benefit from structured, one‑on‑one enrichment.
Session options:
Choose a 1‑hour or 2‑hour session. Pickup and drop‑off can be arranged.
Who it’s for:
Ideal for dogs that need extra mental and physical engagement, dogs who don’t enjoy busy daycares or dog parks, older dogs who still need stimulation but not rough play, and busy owners seeking a safe, enriching alternative.
Guidelines:
Not recommended for puppies under 5 months or dogs with serious separation anxiety or aggression. Up to two dogs(same family) per session.
Day Training
Day Training is a done-for-you, in-home training program for busy dog owners who want more support and faster momentum than a weekly lesson alone.
Todd works one-on-one with your dog during the week in your home and neighborhood, focusing on practical skills and everyday behavior challenges. Each week also includes an owner coaching session, so you know how to maintain the progress and use the training in real life.
Day Training is commonly used for:
jumping, leash manners, impulse control, settling in the home, door manners, recall foundations, leave it, drop it, counter surfing, puppy basics, and adolescent behavior challenges.
Visits are structured to include focused training, decompression, and appropriate enrichment, helping your dog learn without becoming overwhelmed.
Programs include:
- 1 to 1.5-hour one-on-one daytime training visits
- A customized weekly training schedule based on your dog’s goals
- Weekly owner transfer sessions
- Progress updates and ongoing coaching support
- Program Length: Day Training begins with a 4-week training block. For dogs working on more involved goals, such as leash reactivity or loose-leash walking, longer programs may be recommended based on progress and individual needs.
Best for: busy households, young dogs, dogs who need more repetition, and owners who want training to happen where behavior actually matters most — at home.
For more serious behavior concerns, such as severe fear, anxiety, or aggression, a behavior consult may be recommended first.
